Meaghan’s HypnoBirthing course was everything we needed and more!
There were a few options for doing HypnoBirthing on the Gold Coast and I’m so pleased we chose to do our course with Meaghan.
She offers a free introductory session which I found really valuable. It gave Ross and I an opportunity to meet her first and learn about her approach to teaching HB before committing to her program.
Meaghan went above and beyond on our four evenings with her. We learned so much about positive and calm birth and left with the tools to help facilitate our own dream birth.
I loved that I could continue to practice my relaxation techniques with meaghan during her dreamy pregnancy massages in the weeks leading up to my labour.
I don’t think I would have had such an incredible and relaxing homebirth for my first baby if it wasn’t for the tools and encouragement I received from meaghan and the HypnoBirthing course.
I couldn’t recommend it enough!
Thanks meaghan, we love you!

Meaghan’s program was great. It was well run, relaxed and very informative. The resources and the exercises are really handy too.
It was also good to have a scheduled night where we and a handful of other couples could come together as a bit of a community and talk positively about this massive event.

We will be forever grateful for you and your teachings Meaghan! We could not have got the birth we did without your HypnoBirthing course, but more importantly, the way you teach it!! Your passion and positive energy made us feel fearless and genuinely so excited to give birth! Something Brent and I didn’t even know was possible! What you do is magic Meaghan. Brent, baby Harper and I cannot thank you enough. X

Thank you so much for everything you did for us, I am so happy I met you and have HypnoBirthing in my life now not only for my next birth but how I love my life. Going to class and learning all about it made James and I feel at home. Brings tears to my eyes to know it’s all over but the memories will forever remain in our hearts. HypnoBirthing is our life and my birth and labour and pregnancy experience was the best journey I’ve experienced in my life, such a powerful time and so many amazing feelings and sensations just beautiful what the human body can do, and now we have a baby boy Lennox out of it, he is so beautiful and sweet and delicious, so calm and so amazing, the prime example of a HypnoBirthing bubba. I can’t thank you enough, thank you for being you and thank you for all that you taught us. Life is so unreal and so magical. Love always and forever Larissa, James and Lennox XX

My partner Luke and I did HypnoBirthing classes with Meaghan and have never looked back! My partner was reluctant at first to attend the classes but after the first one, he absolutely loved it and found it really informative. We learnt so much about pregnancy, birth and post birth. We also made really supportive, awesome friends from the class! Meaghan is super supportive, down to earth, full of knowledge and understanding – we couldn’t ask for a better teacher/friend to guide us through our pregnancy/HypnoBirthing journey. Meaghan isn’t just a HypnoBirthing teacher but she’s also a masseuse, aromatherapist and doula. I saw Meaghan for multiple pregnancy massages and they are amazing!! Highly recommend! ❤️

After 2 previous traumatic births my husband and I decided that this time round we would without a doubt have support at this birth. Someone to advocate and support us. I found Meaghan on Instagram and instantly loved her ballsy confidence and knowledge. Meaghan was a world full of knowledge to support and reassure me that really came in handy throughout a 2 week long on and off pre labour. When it came time for labour to really start she was there by our side at the hospital immediately. In what I can only describe as not ideal circumstances and not being in a proper birthing room during labour, she guided me for several hours through my surges, rubbing me with delicious balms and oils and the nurturing calmness and confidence that exuded es from every cell, it helped keep my mind focused through the chaos that was surrounding my us. At times I was really struggling with the restrictions and complications that where arising but she brought me back into my body, she continued to guide me, reassure me and my husbands confidence, she was the only one maintaining her cool. Meaghan had me, she had us both, she didn’t worry about anything else just focused purely on supporting us, supporting me. There are no words that can describe the level of support and comfort she showered me with even though things went very differently than I had planned my confidence, strength and focus would not of been what it was without her. Our beautiful little girl Una Fay was born 9:40pm Wed 26th June via emergency cesarean and there was no trauma, because my mind was supported right up to the moment they wheeled me to theatre Meaghan was there. We are so grateful for the support and love Meaghan provided us, calling Meaghan a Doula feels like an understatement she is far more than that, words fail to express the incredible women she truly is.

Myself & my husband Luke attended HypnoBirthing classes with Meaghan Amor at A place called birth.
We attended the free info session firstly, which reiterated to us that she was the right person for us.
Luke & I really had no idea what we were in for in terms of labour, except “we were going to have a baby”.
At Meaghan’s classes she not only taught us techniques to implement when in birth but she also educated us in more ways than we knew possible.
We walked in knowing not a lot, and left the five week program feeling much more at ease, aware of our chooses and excited to give birth. Prior to falling pregnant I was nervous at the thought of attending hospital and giving birth, but after receiving all this information, learning techniques, watching birth videos and having chats with Meaghan we were so much more prepared, so much so that we were happy to sit and wait, not rushing the process of going into labor like so many people do.
Meaghan is a great advocate for all women giving birth, she 100% has your best interests at heart as well as respects you and your choices.
Her pregnancy and post partum massages are simply divine also – ultimately what I’m saying is, if you’re pregnant Meaghan is the person you need in your life, whether it’s for HypnoBirthing classes, as a Doula or as a massage therapist.
You won’t be disappointed.

Well this has been a long time coming (my baby is 8 months old now ). I have been meaning to write a review for Meaghan about our experience with her because our babies birth would not have been the same without her… Upon a recommendation from a friend we were guided to Meaghan as we were looking to do hypnobirthing classes on the lead up to our babies birth. Meaghan was an AMAZING teacher who went well beyond her call of duty as mentor for our classes making sure we knew she was there anytime we wanted her advice or just some reassurance. Meaghan instilled the confidence into myself and my partner for an all natural birth. I can 100% say I went into hospital so confident and fearless and trusting 100% in my bodies capabilities. NEVER would I have thought I would have had an all natural water birth. NEVER would I have thought I could give birth without pain medication, let alone I could NEVER imagine in my wildest dreams that I could birth my own baby into my own hands, but I DID! And its all thanks to this wonderful woman, who taught us how to trust the whole process and taught us everything we needed to know. She also taught my partner how to be the most amazing birthing partner Also her pregnancy massages are so beautiful and nuturing, they go beyond just being a ‘massage’, they are more of an experience that every pregnant woman needs in their life. Meaghan has found her true calling in life and for that and us being led to her, my partner and I will be forever grateful

Where do I begin!? ~ AMAZING ♡♡♡
I connected with Meaghan just by chance and after our first meeting I knew she was someone we were meant to have in our life.
She has a beautiful energy and a gorgeous heart. We initially engaged Meaghan to be our HypnoBirthing teacher because we understood the importance of preparation for pre, during and post birth. Women’s bodies are made to birth! ♡
Meaghan guided my husband Igor and I through the HypnoBirthing International Mongan Method. Such a great course and we learned so so much! We also asked Meaghan to be our Doula and what a blessing that was.
Throughout my final weeks of pregnancy I had the pleasure of having a few of Meaghan’s massages. They are so bloody brilliant, her hands are like ray’s of beautiful warm sunshine ~ Luka loved being massaged also whilst in mummy’s belly. She goes above and beyond to ensure the most nurturing massage experience. It’s heavenly! Do yourself a favour and go get one! She also does postnatal massage ♡
Igor was amazing when I was in labour as he put into play the principals and methods we learned with Meaghan in HypnoBirthing ~ the knowledge is so empowering for both birthing woman and partner. We planned a home birth but ended up having to go to the hospital. Meaghan was our rock. She was right by my side for the 3 short hours of labour and provided the most incredible support. No words can describe how much Igor and I cherish her ♡
I had the most amazing birthing experience and journey, totally drug free. Meaghan assisted in enabling this beautiful and empowering journey and for that we are eternally grateful. Our son Luka had a peaceful and calm birthing journey earthside and is the most peaceful and calm little bubba ~ currently 5 weeks old!
Hand to heart, if you are pregnant please get in touch with Meaghan as she is the woman to guide and support you every step of the way to have the most incredible birthing journey, one that you will want to share with the world ♡
Thanks so much Meags. We love you xxx

She has been awarded the role as a Global Presence Ambassador for Parenting 2.0, is a Director of the Australian Birth and Parenting Network and runs HypnoBirthing Gold Coast.
Anthea is working with therapy based on the philosophy that our unconscious minds can heal our bodies, and control the delicate process of conception and birthing. She is focused on helping people find their unlimited potential in all areas of life, on helping women to rediscover their natural birthing instincts and works to provide couples with information about their bodies, the birth process, how their mind affects conception and birth helping to empower them to take control of their own journey.
Anthea is married and has two children. She lives on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Trish always remembered being fascinated by babies and how they came into the world and so was really excited on first becoming pregnant in 1999 and then again in 2001. Unfortunately, both of these births were not what she had envisaged. During her third pregnancy she discovered HypnoBirthing® and the benefits of having a Doula by her side. This time she laboured and birthed easily and calmly and this made her realise that birth can be the way she had always thought it was meant to be.
This experience led her to change the direction of her life and in 2006 she became a Certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner. Since then Trish has enjoyed working with families as they bring their children into the world. The use of hypnosis during the HypnoBirthing® classes also intrigued Trish and she became fascinated with the untapped potential of the subconscious mind. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist she can assist HypnoBirthing® families with issues that are outside the scope of the classroom setting. This broadens the scope of her practice to include a larger range of issues. Hypnotherapy commonly helps alleviate anxiety, stress, addictions, depression, and PTSD. It can assist with weight reduction, improving self confidence and infertility as well as many other issues.
Trish has always provided a good sounding board, listening with a compassionate ear and wanting to help people solve their life’s challenges. Her genuine desire to connect with people needing support, underpins her skill set and she is often told that her calming manner and comforting voice offer reassurance to the wonderful people she has worked with over the years.
Trish says…“I look forward to being by your side as your Hypnotherapist should you need support with life’s challenges…or as your HypnoBirthing® Practitioner for when you are pregnant and choose a birth free of fear…or as your Doula for when you decide that you need hands on emotional support during birth…or maybe all three! Thank you.”
Hi Beautiful Mummas,
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.
My name is Kirsty, I’m 35 years young and have a beautiful HypnoBirthing baby boy, River who is 22 months old. I love being a stay at home mum especially living on the Gold Coast because we get to spend our days at the beach. I am a happy, positive, enthusiastic and healthy mama. I love yoga, meditating, nature and using alternative methods to heal and be the healthiest version of myself. I am a school teacher by trade and hold a Masters in Special Education, I’m also a yoga teacher and now a HypnoBirthing teacher as I love sharing knowledge and empowering people. After my own amazing birth using HypnoBirthing along with other natural therapies – yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage and kinesiology as part of my birth preparation, I just had to share this AMAZING birth education with all women far and wide. I want all women to experience a calm, positive and informed birth no matter what journey their birth takes. I want all women to know that birth is NORMAL, NATURAL and ACHIEVABLE without the use of drugs and interventions. I want all women to meet their BIRTH GOALS whatever that might look like for them. I want all women to come out of birth feeling like GODDESS WARRIORS (like one of my HypnoBirthing mumma said she felt after her birth) even if it doesn’t go to plan. This is why I became a HypnoBirthing practitioner and I want to help you achieve your birth goal. I love that I support women from the moment they begin their HypnoBirthing journey to the moment they meet their baby.
Below is my own birth story and have attached some birthing images (taken during the last 45mins of labour). I hope you enjoy reading and can see in the photos can see just how calm. in control and relaxed I was using the HypnoBirthing techniques and tools.
It’s hard to believe that River, my beautiful ‘baby’ boy is nearly 18 months old already. I will always remember the day he was born as being both intense and blissful, just how nature intended. Although I had an amazing birth that went exactly how I visualised, I was reluctant to share my story as I felt guilty, I knew other women have had contrasting experiences. But when I do open up and share I have to roll my eyes when people say ‘oh you just lucky with your birth’.
I want to reassure all mums-to-be that you don’t have to get lucky to enjoy your birth experience as much as I did. I’m not lucky, I just worked hard during pregnancy to prepare my mind, body and soul for my birth. I believe most women can have a blissful birth like me. My advice; be prepared to do all that you can to reach your desired outcome. The two biggest things are to educate yourself on the journey ahead and use HypnoBirthing to prepare your mind and body to be ready for birth.
Throughout my pregnancy not only did I religiously practice HypnoBirthing from 20 weeks until I went into labour at 41 weeks and 2 days but I also meditated and practiced yoga daily. I made this as routine as brushing my teeth twice a day. I also visited the acupuncturist, chiropractor, kinesiologist, massage therapist regularly, invested in a private midwife, read heaps of books and nourished my body by consuming a plant-based diet. I was guided to do everything in my power to be ready for my birth day. It wasn’t a chore for me, I loved it. My motto was that if I could do everything in my power to be ready and it still doesn’t go to plan then so be it. That is okay. I would accept that my baby decided to take a different path into this world. But it was in my power to do what I could and not leave it to luck or chance.
The only time I felt some anxiety was when I went past the expected due date. I was adamant I didn’t want to be induced so I had acupuncturist sessions, massages with clary sage, made love, bounced on the fit ball, walked, practiced nipple stimulation, ate dates and watched heaps of HypnoBirthing births on Youtube while crying my eyes out (I think the last one did the trick!).
Nine days after the expected due date I woke up at 2am with period like pains, I didn’t share this with my partner but listened to rainbow relaxation and went back to sleep. At 4am I woke and they had intensified so I called Steph my midwife. She told me to sleep and rest, it would be a long day. I took a hot water bottle and went back to sleep until 5.30am at which point the surges intensified. I woke my partner up and we began practicing our HypnoBirthing techniques, I listened to my rainbow relaxation visualisation track while breathing and smelling clary sage. The surges seemed very close together and although I was connected to my breath I just couldn’t get comfortable using the fit ball, on all fours or even in the bath. I wanted to constantly empty my bowels and was beginning to feel a little anxious. I thought I would have time to lie around watching movies, relaxing, eating, showering or going for walks! I had organised homeopathic supplements prior to labour and started taking the supplement for rapid labour. Around 6.30am I ended up on the toilet with my drink bottle and listening to the rainbow relaxation while Guy, my partner stood at the door timing my surges.
Alone on the toilet I totally let go, riding the waves of labour, totally surrendering and getting lost in my breathing. Every minute or so my entire body was overcome by a surge, they were incredibly powerful but I can honestly say I felt no pain, they were intense but only mildly uncomfortable. They felt so natural.
I felt like I was on an amazing carpet ride, eyes closed, knees wide apart, circling my hips, circling my head, doing light touches on my belly and back, moaning and went totally within. My partner had contacted the midwife again, she said that the surges were too far apart and inconsistent but to contact her if I felt pressure in my bum. At about 10.30am my membranes released while I was on the toilet, my breathing changed and my surges forced me to begin bearing down so that I could now feel pressure in my bum. I started to get a little concerned because I didn’t want to have the baby in the toilet. After a phone call from Guy, my midwife came straight away. After checking me externally she advised that the birth was very close! She knew we wanted a water birth and reckoned we had just enough time to get to GCUH where we had booked a birthing suite. The most difficult part of the experience was walking down our 71 stairs, stopping midway to breathe through a surge. It was surreal to be lying down in the car, trying to moderate my surges as all my body wanted to do was bear down. I didn’t want a car birth! In the car, I listened to rainbow relaxation using head phones and wore an eye mask so I could focus on my breathing and block out external stimuli.
We arrived at the hospital at 12.15pm, I walked to the birthing suite, refusing the wheel chair as I didn’t want to slow the surges down. I got into the warm bath straight away, the water was very soothing. I continued listening to the rainbow relaxation and focusing on my breathing, surrendering to my body’s surges and allowing them to guide me. After parking the car my partner finally arrived, the midwife has just sent him a text to hurry up as River was well on his way. Guy was straight in the pool with me and we began working together on breathing and visualising just like we had practiced all those times before. Guy gently reminded me to relax my face, relax my jaw, relax my shoulders, to focus on my breathing, he talked me through a visualisation of lotus flower opening, just like my vagina was doing with River. In my mind I could see the petals unfolding and River’s head emerging, just as I had practised during my pregnancy.
The only time the midwife interacted with us was when she checked River’s heart beat and wiped my face with a rose water cloth. Within the pool my body instinctively knew what position to get into, I was up on my toes, knees apart in a squat holding onto the side of the pool, bearing down while my partner continued to remind me to relax my face, jaw, mouth and shoulders. I birthed River in one go, catching him in the water and pulling him up to my chest, which the midwife and my partner missed as they didn’t realise it would be so quick! He was born at 1pm, a day baby which I didn’t expect at all. I naturally birthed the placenta as I had arranged to encapsulate it for later consumption. I patiently watched River to the crawl to my breast and attach on his own without interruption.
We thought it was totally normal when our new family left the hospital at 6pm that night, 4 hours after giving birth. On the way home we even stopped to get vegan take-out to refuel my body and were sitting eating dinner with our new baby shortly after. What joy to be home as a family that evening.
Everyone’s birth is a unique journey and I believe we have the power to choose our experience, even though it may not go to plan. HypnoBirthing is one of the most powerful ways to take ownership and create the birth outcome you desire. My sister who also used HypnoBirthing and had a natural water birth three weeks prior to me said this about birth, I totally agree “Failing to plan is planning to fail”.
My name is Karen.
I’m a Wife, and Mother of 2 beautiful HynoBirthing babies Koa 4 & Keoni 2.
I love all things health and wellbeing and this is where my journey begin.
As a first time mum at 39 years of age I was told that I would be looking to have a C-section purely because of my age… I was shocked why? I was healthy my baby was healthy why could I not birth my baby naturally?! So as I always would do with anything in my life I went about educating myself about all things birth. This is where I came across HypnoBirthing and my life’s purpose changed. I absolutely believed I could birth my baby naturally. Through learning HypnoBirthing I became so confident about trusting my body and my baby to come gracefully into the world in a calm and relaxed way. I was nothing short of being excited about my birthing day and so was my rock and biggest supporter – My Husband.
After Birthing my gorgeous nearly 10pd baby boy I was so passionate to share my story with anyone who would listen. I was particularly passionate about speaking with first time mums to give them a positive understanding of birth and not a view that was fear based which so many tried to do to me during my pregnancy.
I believe pregnancy is the most magical time of a womens life and should be celebrated that way. If you mind is free of negativity and you learn to nurture yourself from the inside out with healthy foods, gentle exercise and relaxation you will prepare your body and mind for this amazing journey.
I believe that growing a baby is such an important job and know how important it is that we fill our bodies with an abundance of healthy foods to nurture our babies and bodies even avoiding dangerous chemicals around our house and chemical based products on our skins as we know that these pass over to our babies in utero.
The impact we have on our little ones future starts when they are in our belly.
I would love to share with you and your birthing partner all about HypnoBirthing so you to can feel empowered & educated all about Birth so you are free of fear and are able to trust your body, your baby to enjoy this incredible & magical day no matter what turn you birth takes on the day.
