Lisa is so well informed and supportive. She passed on more knowledge than we could ever had expected when engaging in the course. Her communication and advice extended far past the course, with regular check ins and updates, and additional material to watch/read. She showed genuine interest and care for each participant, offering additional one to one advice where needed.
We had an incredibly positive birth, within 8 hours of my membranes rupturing our little man was in our arms. I was able to achieve our aim of a natural birth with no medication. I felt in control, relaxed, well informed and incredibly supported by my partner, OB and midwife. Any necessary changes to our birth preferences were not overwhelming as I was involved in the decision – I knew what they meant and why they were necessary (meconium in waters meant a shower, no bath, and constant monitoring, and episiotomy at the end as baby kept retracting and was getting tired).
I have nothing but positive memories of our birthing experience, and put this down to Lisa’s care and expertise in preparing us for this moment. My partner has recommended HypnoBirthing to our friends whose wives/girlfriends are pregnant, as it allowed him to feel educated and involved in the process. He even watched our little man enter the world, and inspected the placenta which are two things he swore he’d never do!
Our baby is well adjusted, calm, happy a great sleeper and feeds well. I put this down to the preparation, relaxation practise and positive birthing experience. Thank you so much Lisa, we’ll be back next time!!

Enabling parents to approach pregnancy and birth with confidence and excitement so that they can bring their babies calmly and gently into the world.
The story that brought me to being a HypnoBirthing Educator is simple really: The HypnoBirthing mindset and techniques helped my husband and I create two births more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. They were calm, informed and incredibly intimate experiences.
I want to spread this message of positive birth and help couples achieve a magical experience on their birthing days. I am combining my love of teaching gained through my Bachelor of Education degree and 15 year professional career (largely focused around training and communication) and taking these skills into a different space: the birth space.
I am passionate about
- helping couples write their own positive birth story, no matter what that might be. It is your journey and no one else’s.
- helping women realise the full power and incredible deign of their bodies.
- bringing the birth companion / partner into the birth space as an active participant who is involved in the birth in every way possible. You are no longer a bystander!
- the sanctity of the birth space and birth environment. Create the environment you want to birth in, no matter where that physically is.
I attended HypnoBirthing classes as a mum with my own pregnancy 10 years ago and I was so blown away by my calm birth and the positive elements that HypnoBirthing added to my life that I had to train as a practitioner to show other mums & dads this wonderful philosophy of birth. I have had the pleasure of teaching HypnoBirthing to couples since 2010. I find it such an honour to be invited to share a couple’s pregnancy and birthing journey.
As well as teaching HypnoBirthing, I am an aromatherapist and have a natural range of skincare and aromatherapy products for pregnancy and birth (https://soularoma.com.au) and conduct consultations in aromatherapy. As I love being involved in the very precious journey of pregnancy and motherhood, I am also a prenatal massage therapist and an infant massage instructor.
Hi, I’m Melissa, your doula and birth educator
I know exactly how daunting it can feel facing into the uncertainty and unknowing-ness of childbirth and parenthood.
I have two little ones myself, and before my first birth I can honestly say I had no idea of the true power of my body and the depth that the experience of giving birth could bring.
I also had no idea how much pressure it placed on woman to have birth experiences that “tick all the boxes”.
I believe that all births can be beautiful. And that a positive birth experience is less about how it looks on paper and more about how it feels for the people involved.
And I’m on a mission to help woman have incredible birth experiences that are free from judgement and fear.
Hearing a woman and her partner say “I can do this”, seeing the sparkle and determination in their eyes and knowing they really mean it is an honour and a privilege.
My childbirth education, birth doula and postnatal support services are all about helping parents have the empowerment and support to trust their instincts and make confident choices.
And I’d be honoured to help you.
Please feel free to contact me to have a chat about your upcoming birth and the HypnoBirthing course.

We are 3 Bayside registered Midwives who come together with a strong background of childbirth education and love for our work with women and their families. A combined 46 years of Midwifery experience and 8 beautiful children between us (so far) we share the strong belief that all women should be given the opportunity to have a positive and safe birthing experience.
We know that sometimes the journey can take a different turn – that’s ok. We have each had our own very different birthing experiences to draw on: vaginal breech, emergency Caesarean, normal births after caesareans, water births, home birth and almost didn’t make it to hospital births. Each of these births were equally special and powerful – and a gift to learn from.
We absolutely know, from witnessing hundreds of births, that the knowledge of how truly remarkable our bodies are is so powerful. As is the ability to embrace all the incredible interconnecting systems that contribute to birth. We will empower you to birth without fear – working with your body’s innate abilities – not against them. We will guide you to fully embrace your Birthing Instincts.
“There is a secret in our culture and it’s not that birth is painful but that women are strong,” Laura Stavoe.
Rachel has a passion for birth & early parenthood and believes it is important that parents feel empowered & informed in both. As a woman and a mum she also believes it is vitally important that women feel supported and respected in their birthing space. She is excited & proud to be delivering a premium childbirth eduction program.
HypnoBirthing gave me the chance to have a beautiful, calm and empowering birth in the freedom of my own home. This invaluable, most precious experience gave me the drive and passion to learn more and help others do the same as they take on their journey to birthing and parenting. I believe that love, equality, freedom and respect are paramount to both mother and baby during pregnancy, birth and beyond. The support from the birth companions and care providers have a significant impact on the experience and I am honoured to be part of the HypnoBirthing movement that allows all these aspects to come together in harmony. The beauty of this course empowers us with further knowledge and the tools for achieving not just our dreams for birth but for life going forward.
I believe the nurture and care we follow in pregnancy and birth is equally as important in post-partum care and I will be looking to introducing this additional element later in the year. Post-partum care and support will focus on care for both mother and baby including the emotional aspects, healthy living, nutrition, and techniques for self-care and baby massage. I currently work closely with many other highly recommended health professionals locally and am happy to provide any information you may need. I am passionate about good health and applying a positive approach to everything life has to offer. I am also an Angelic Reiki healer, part of the international Angelic Reiki Association, a passionate artist and support women’s rights including birth choices here in Australia. I am a home birth advocate and am a current member of Homebirth Australia.
I believe we can create anything we put our minds and heart to, the key is in what we truly believe. Each journey is unique to each parent, it is with love that we each achieve our dreams and goals. For any further information please visit my website or Facebook page, I look forward to meeting you, happy HypnoBirthing 🙂

HypnoBirthing Practitioner & Midwife
As a midwife of 30 years I have cared for many women in labour, and this has been complemented over the past 9 years as a HypnoBirthing practitioner.
It has been extremely rewarding to have been witness to many women whom I have taught the HypnoBirthing program, achieve a calm, rewarding birth experience, free of intervention. The natural euphoric feeling post birth is palpable among all those involved in the birthing experience when a woman relaxes into her birthing body, completely trusting in it’s innate ability. Birthing is as it should be.
Learn ways to achieve a natural and gentle birthing experience. Through the HypnoBirthing program I can teach you how to thoroughly relax, let go of fear and tension, and trust in your body’s ability to orchestrate birth with such precision. Once you have learnt these skills, you will be on the road to having the best possible birthing experience.
