I attended HypnoBirthing classes as a mum with my own pregnancy 10 years ago and I was so blown away by my calm birth and the positive elements that HypnoBirthing added to my life that I had to train as a practitioner to show other mums & dads this wonderful philosophy of birth. I have had the pleasure of teaching HypnoBirthing to couples since 2010. I find it such an honour to be invited to share a couple’s pregnancy and birthing journey.
As well as teaching HypnoBirthing, I am an aromatherapist and have a natural range of skincare and aromatherapy products for pregnancy and birth (https://soularoma.com.au) and conduct consultations in aromatherapy. As I love being involved in the very precious journey of pregnancy and motherhood, I am also a prenatal massage therapist and an infant massage instructor.
The pregnant mother and her birth partner get taught a variety of techniques to promote a more comfortable and relaxed labour and ultimately a more confident and informed birth experience.
Hi! I am a mother, midwife, nurse, and lactation consultant (IBCLC) with 11 years Neonatal ICU experience. I used the HypnoBirthing® program to give birth to my daughter at home in 2013
I teach small group (North Beach) and private HypnoBirthing® classes. I love teaching parents to be about every related to pregnancy, birth, and beyond. I especially love the HypnoBirthing® program because it is evidence based and relevant
Group classes are limited to 3 couples, which means you will get individual attention. Classes are held in a central and comfortable location
Private classes are held in the comfort of your home.
I can also do ‘mini-groups’ of friends or family for the regular group price
The price of the classes includes the 5 sessions, the book, and CD, as well as a ZenBand, Affirmation Cards, and goodie bag
I also provide private lactation consultant appointments, pre or post birth. A 2hr breastfeeding preparation class is also available – although the last session of the HypnoBirthing® course covers most of this information. Anyone who attends my HypnoBirthing® classes will only pay the ‘followup’ price if post birth consultations are needed
I am also a stockist for various breastfeeding and expressing products, including Spectra® breast pumps. HypnoBirthing clients will receive a 10% discount on a breast pump
I’m a passionate Midwife, HypnoBirthing® Educator and mother of 4 busy children.
I look forward to sharing your HypnoBirthing® journey with you.
A very warm welcome to you!

All of this… is led by you & only you hold the key. Isn’t that the BEST?!
Be free of fear, be in the drivers seat, let go of expectations & prepare yourselves for a more informed birthing adventure, whatever that may look like… because the best is yet to come.

We are 3 Bayside registered Midwives who come together with a strong background of childbirth education and love for our work with women and their families. A combined 46 years of Midwifery experience and 8 beautiful children between us (so far) we share the strong belief that all women should be given the opportunity to have a positive and safe birthing experience.
We know that sometimes the journey can take a different turn – that’s ok. We have each had our own very different birthing experiences to draw on: vaginal breech, emergency Caesarean, normal births after caesareans, water births, home birth and almost didn’t make it to hospital births. Each of these births were equally special and powerful – and a gift to learn from.
We absolutely know, from witnessing hundreds of births, that the knowledge of how truly remarkable our bodies are is so powerful. As is the ability to embrace all the incredible interconnecting systems that contribute to birth. We will empower you to birth without fear – working with your body’s innate abilities – not against them. We will guide you to fully embrace your Birthing Instincts.
“There is a secret in our culture and it’s not that birth is painful but that women are strong,” Laura Stavoe.
I have been a midwife for 10years and am still very active in my local hospital, currently working between the ward and birth suite. I am involved with a number of home birth midwives as well providing support and constantly learning where able. I am a mum of 3 little boys and it was their births that reinforced the need for education and preparation for birth in pregnancy, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. I have been a private educator for a number of years now and love the connections and beautiful results I get working with families.
How I work with parents
I help parents take back their birth, understanding how their body works, how to assist rather than resist their natural processes. I involved partners and educate them how to be an awesome support not just an occasional help. I provide you with the skills to take control and responsibility for yourself, your baby and your birth.
My training & experience
HypnoBirthing International Educator – 3years
Mum – 7 years
Numerous additional qualifications in
SIDs safe sleeping
Newborn first aid
Breastfeeding support and assistance
I specialise in HypnoBirthing® classes because I used the techniques for both my births and I came out of those experiences in full goddess mode – strong, capable and whole. These are the things I want every woman to take away from her birth experience. I give you a toolbox for labour and birth, natural pain management, hospital systems and help create a beautiful family bond from conception.
Thank you for considering me as your HypnoBirthing Practitioner
As long as I can remember I have been fascinated with the human body, this changed direction slightly after the birth of our 1st child and it was specifically women’s bodies and how amazing they are to grow and birth a baby. I decided to take this passion and turn it into a job, after all not too many people get to actually have a job that they are passionate about. I studied and became a doula. I loved working with women on their journey towards motherhood, be it the 1st or 10th time that they were birthing. However, talking to women in the community it became known to me that not all women were having the birth experience that they desired, I was desperate to reach and empower more women than I could possible doula, and so after our amazing, calm, stress-free and empowering birth of our second child I decided to become a Hypnobirthing Practitioner.
Now there are many different types of childbirth education classes out there but I loved that HypnoBirthing is also a philosophy and most importantly, evidence based. One of my favourite moments in class are the ‘ah-ha’ moments that my mums have when what I am teaching all falls into place. I love seeing how women who often commence the course stressed and anxious finish the course, feeling relaxed, empowered and trusting in the body’s natural ability to birth their baby.
I offer small group classes of up to 6 women and their support person or you can have private classes in your home.
You can find out more about the HypnoBirthing classes and other services I offer at my website.
Even though we may have not met, my wish for you is to have a birth that you will remember as calm, stress-free and empowering.
My dream is for every family is be seen, heard, loved and respected throughout their birthing journey, by all they encounter. I believe that when families are held at this vulnerable time and start their journey with support, the changes and challenges that await them are able to be faced with an ease, grace and perspective.

Hi, I’m Melissa, your doula and birth educator
I know exactly how daunting it can feel facing into the uncertainty and unknowing-ness of childbirth and parenthood.
I have two little ones myself, and before my first birth I can honestly say I had no idea of the true power of my body and the depth that the experience of giving birth could bring.
I also had no idea how much pressure it placed on woman to have birth experiences that “tick all the boxes”.
I believe that all births can be beautiful. And that a positive birth experience is less about how it looks on paper and more about how it feels for the people involved.
And I’m on a mission to help woman have incredible birth experiences that are free from judgement and fear.
Hearing a woman and her partner say “I can do this”, seeing the sparkle and determination in their eyes and knowing they really mean it is an honour and a privilege.
My childbirth education, birth doula and postnatal support services are all about helping parents have the empowerment and support to trust their instincts and make confident choices.
And I’d be honoured to help you.
Please feel free to contact me to have a chat about your upcoming birth and the HypnoBirthing course.

Trish always remembered being fascinated by babies and how they came into the world and so was really excited on first becoming pregnant in 1999 and then again in 2001. Unfortunately, both of these births were not what she had envisaged. During her third pregnancy she discovered HypnoBirthing® and the benefits of having a Doula by her side. This time she laboured and birthed easily and calmly and this made her realise that birth can be the way she had always thought it was meant to be.
This experience led her to change the direction of her life and in 2006 she became a Certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner. Since then Trish has enjoyed working with families as they bring their children into the world. The use of hypnosis during the HypnoBirthing® classes also intrigued Trish and she became fascinated with the untapped potential of the subconscious mind. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist she can assist HypnoBirthing® families with issues that are outside the scope of the classroom setting. This broadens the scope of her practice to include a larger range of issues. Hypnotherapy commonly helps alleviate anxiety, stress, addictions, depression, and PTSD. It can assist with weight reduction, improving self confidence and infertility as well as many other issues.
Trish has always provided a good sounding board, listening with a compassionate ear and wanting to help people solve their life’s challenges. Her genuine desire to connect with people needing support, underpins her skill set and she is often told that her calming manner and comforting voice offer reassurance to the wonderful people she has worked with over the years.
Trish says…“I look forward to being by your side as your Hypnotherapist should you need support with life’s challenges…or as your HypnoBirthing® Practitioner for when you are pregnant and choose a birth free of fear…or as your Doula for when you decide that you need hands on emotional support during birth…or maybe all three! Thank you.”
